Now I realize that you’re probably not looking for funding for your MLM business from a bank or angel investor, so your business plan may not have to be as professional and/or as thorough as they would like for it to be (although it can’t hurt), but nonetheless your MLM business plan should be clear in certain areas and I’m going to lay those out for you now.
1) Clear Goals… Every business has a goal. On the large scale that goal is to succeed and grow. But that isn’t enough. To plan for that success you need to spell out those goals in a clear and specified manner. Moreover, those goals need to be specified and broken down into timeframes.
So if your goal is to make $100,000 a year with your MLM home business, then you should break that down into milestones for reaching that $100,000. Obviously you can’t just start a business and start making a hundred grand a year right from the get-go, so your goal may be to make just 20,000 your first year, and then 50,000 your next and after 3 years be making 100,000 per year with your MLM business.
2) Operations… Every business has an operations side to it, and your multi level marketing business is no different. So therefore this section of your business plan will lay out what you’ll do in your business on a daily basis.
So basically a schedule… This can also intertwine with your goals, and actually set deadlines to which you want certain things to be done. For instance working online will certainly be a part of your business and therefore you’ll want to set goals to get certain things taken care of like setting up a website, a blog, a social media system, an auto-responder etc. And then you’ll schedule how many hours per day you’ll work on this stuff, and how much time spent on each one individually.
3) Expenses… Of course no business can exist without expenses, even if it is one that you work from home. With MLM you’ll have your set up expense right off the get-go for your business pack, and then monthly you’ll have your auto-ship etc.
As well you’ll have advertising costs, home office supplies, etc. The more you know your expenses then easier it is to account for your profit. Furthermore the easier it is to raise your profits by knowing exactly how much you can spend on certain things.

Are You Ready to Join MLM? – Maybe You Should Think Twice
So you’re looking to join MLM but you’re not sure how to go about it or which company to join right?

Another huge quality that you must possess if you’re even thinking about joining MLM is to be committed and dedicated to your business. I actually beg you that if you’re looking to join MLM because you think it’s going to be fast money, get rich quick, and easy then please…do not join.
I’ll tell you right now…most likely you won’t get rich quick. Of course that’s all relative to what your idea of quick is but if you’re starting in January and looking to buy your mansion in March then you’ll likely be sorely disappointed in the results. Like everything else it takes work and dedication (there’s those words again) to get to that point.
You’ll have to put in some real time each and every day. You’ll have to put yourself out there to the world, and not hide behind your computer screen. You’ll have to talk to people about your opportunity, and products. You’ll have to pick up the phone.
Why Am I Not Afraid to Tell You These Things?
Well I’ll tell you, as well as give you a little marketing lesson at the same time. In sales, there’s a saying that you should always “get rid of the tire kickers”.
Obviously this comes from the car sales industry, but basically it means getting rid of the people who really weren’t coming into the car lot to buy a car anyways. They just come in to meander around, look at the new models, and just get some stats.
Now that’s all well and good, but every good car salesman knows that what these people truly are, are time wasters. They will suck away your day, and that’s time that you could have used talking to people who came in with the intention to actually buy.
Well, everything I wrote above was absolutely true. Hard work and dedication is crucial if you want to succeed in MLM. Now as a network marketing mentor, and trainer, it truly is a waste of my time to try and persuade someone who isn’t ready and willing to put in the work that MLM is the right opportunity for them. How to Create Achievable Goals
It’s my opinion that a huge amount of people do not enjoy the success that they should simply because they don’t make the plans to achieve those successes. In other words they fail to plan, so therefore they what?…That’s right…they plan to fail. Corny I know, but that’s about as true of a saying as you’ll ever hear in your life.
So how do you set goals that will be achievable, and will make your network marketing business grow by leaps and bounds?
There are a few things that are required to ensure that your goals will be met by you. It really consists of making it as easy on you to achieve these goals.
First off, goals MUST be written. If your goals aren’t written on paper, then they’re actually not goals, but simply just wishes or dreams. You wish and dream in your head, but you create goals on paper.
But just writing something down vaguely of what you want isn’t even close to enough. You have to be extremely specific. So basically instead of saying, “I want a bigger downline in 2010”, instead say “I want to add 336 new people to my downline this year”. That’s a specific goal, and what will happen internally is that your brain will go to work, and instruct your body to move toward that goal. It’s amazing how it happens.
Now don’t think that you’re just going to set a goal, and make it for “this year” or “2010”. No way, that’s not even close to good enough. You MUST set a DEADLINE. Deadlines are amazing little creatures, and if not for deadlines, the entire world would likely be a much more unproductive place. Deadlines make the world go round.
So set a date for your goal to be achieved. Now a lot of people are afraid of setting deadlines simply because they’re afraid that if they set a deadline, they may not hit the deadline and therefore feel like they’ve failed. It’s called fear of failure.
But here’s the secret. If you set a deadline and work toward that date… even if that date gets here and you haven’t fully reached the goals that you’ve set for your network marketing business…you’re still so far beyond where you were when you started (if you’ve been consistently following a plan of action) that you can’t possibly think of yourself as nothing besides a great winner. You’ll feel so motivated that you’ve gotten this close to your goal, that you’ll have no choice but to keep pushing and striving.
Let’s put it this way, if you’re goal was to make $1 Million Dollars by June 29th, 2010, and on June 29th you’ve only made $900,000, will you truly be that terribly upset at yourself? I don’t think so.
The next step is to create a plan of action for achieving your goal. Here’s the best way to do that…
If you truly want to meet your goals for your network marketing business, then you’ve got to know exactly what that goal is, and work backwards from that goal.
Here’s what that means. Keeping with the growing your network marketing organization goal by 336, and you have a time frame of 1 year let’s say, then you’ll want to divide that goal by 12, which will tell you how many new people you’ll have sponsor each month. Then break that down by week, and then by day.
What this does is give you smaller bite sized chunks to go after, and eat the elephant one bite at a time.
